NITHARI SCANDAL

Of an infamous Kothi

K.R.Wadhwane

Moninder Singh Pandher and his servant Surender Koli Considered one of the fastest growing cities in the world, the New Okhla Industrial Development Area (NOIDA) enjoys more notoriety than fame. It is a political ‘ada’ for UP politicians. It owns two international golf courses, including Jaypee Greens, which is a championship course.

NOIDA’s notoriety arises from the house D-5 in the sector 31. “Yes, yes, sa’ab, this was the infamous kothi. The lives of kids in the locality was worth a chocolate. Yaha garib, khoobsurat bacho key izzat loot ker , mar ker, meat banaker khaya jaata tha and bodies were thrown in nallah after removing vital organs, which were sold. This was a handiwork of two mindless, hoodlums, one educated at Stephen’s. Another his cook. Both were proven rapists. They were human only in name. They were savage creatures, animated by rile passion in maddening lust for sex.

The children were subjected to severe and unbearable pain through sexual atrocities. What caused more anguish and shock was that they were killed to destroy evidence. Their actions were tyrant. Should such inhuman individual live?

The truth is that we lived in Nithari in harmony until these horrible rapes and murders . Now we are divided through community lf lawyers. “You are a reputed section of journalists. You must rescue us. Only then our children will be able to sleep in peace”. This is the ‘silent whistle’ of the village

Both are in and out of jails. But, as usual, justice is not very fair. The cook is harshly treated because his ‘professionals’ are weak in all aspects of investigations and law.

The truth is that we lived in Nithari in harmony until these horrible rapes and murders . Now we are divided through community lf lawyers. “You are a reputed section of journalists. You must rescue us. Only then our children will be able to sleep in peace”. This is the ‘silent whistle’ of the village.

This is what constables on duty, neighbours and passers-by conveyed. All were aghast at the tragedy and expressed their profound grief on the fate of the community. Once a bungalow, it is now addressed as ‘a slaughter house. Once a ‘mansion’, it is now called ‘a death chamber’. The house should not be raised, it should serve as how handful unmindful could destroy peace of the colony, locality and community. It is situated between NOIDA district hospital and a few big house. Its notoriety has gripped the minds of people; in fact tourists stop by to steal glimpses of the ‘house of horror’.

In his confessional statement to the metropolitan magistrate, Chandra Shekhar, Koli stated that he was a typical ‘dehati’ and had learnt cooking, Pandher’s main avocation after sun-set was ‘soft’ company. Slowly, he got involved in the nefarious activity.

Said Koli:”My first victim was Rimpa. As she settled down in bungalow, I throttled her with her ‘chuni’, had sex with her, killed her, cut the body and made a meal of her breast. I packed all her belongings and put them in a box before throwing them into a drain. Then it turned a routine.”
